1. Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health hired Angela Yochem to serve as chief digital officer, effective January 2018.
2. The Buffalo (N.Y.) Niagara Medical Campus named Sam Marrazzo its first-ever chief innovation officer in September.
3. Middletown, N.Y.-based Greater Hudson Valley Health System appointed Lauren Zuckerman director of health information management.
4. Cape Girardeau, Mo.-based Saint Francis Healthcare System tapped Wayne Floyd to serve as cybersecurity officer for information technology.
5. Texas A&M University in College Station appointed Roderic I. Pettigrew, MD, PhD, as CEO of its new interdisciplinary engineering health program, known as "EnHealth," the university announced Nov. 8.
6. A number of Google's Silicon Valley-based biotechnology startups lost their leaders to positions at more traditional biopharma companies.
7. Vivek Kundra resigned from his role as COO of Outcome Health, a Chicago-based tech and advertising startup, Nov. 3, the company's founder and CEO Rishi Shah confirmed in an online statement Nov. 6.
8. Leidos, a Reston, Va.-based science and technology company, appointed Rob Thomas II as vice president for strategic accounts and government relations, the company announced Oct. 30.
9. IBM elected Joseph R. Swedish and Frederick H. Waddell to its board of directors, effective immediately.
10. John Zangardi, PhD, will transition from acting CIO at the Department of Defense to CIO at the Department of Homeland Security, the White House announced Oct. 26.
11. American Well named Harry Kim its senior vice president of strategic partnerships, the company announced Oct. 26.
12. Deven McGraw, the deputy director for health information privacy at HHS Office for Civil Rights and acting chief privacy officer for ONC, resigned from her positions Oct. 19 for a new job in the private sector, an OCR spokesperson confirmed with Becker's Hospital Review.
13. Department of Homeland Security Deputy Chief Technology Officer Rob Palmer is leaving the agency this week to take a position with cybersecurity services firm, Shorepoint.
14. EClinicalHealth selected Mark Paul as head of its U.S. operations.
15. Teladoc appointed Peter McClennen to the newly-created position of president, effective Nov. 1.
