The HIE will allow authorized healthcare providers to quickly access complete clinical information about their patient, with a goal of reducing medication errors and duplicative tests and improving the quality of care.

HINAz’s main function will be providing information to emergency departments and urgent care centers to enable providers to access patients’ clinical information. As providers continue to use electronic health records, HINAz aims to perform additional functions to improve the safety and quality of care.
