Health Catalyst adds Mass General Physicians Organization CEO to board: 4 notes

Health Catalyst, a provider of healthcare analytics, decision support and outcomes improvement solutions, added Timothy G. Ferris, MD, to its board of directors.

Here are four notes:

1. Dr. Ferris is chairman and CEO of the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization, a multispecialty medical group based in Boston and affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital.

2. His previous roles include serving as medical director of the MGPO and senior vice president for population health at both MGH and its parent Boston-based Partners HealthCare.

3. He chaired the steering committee of the National Quality Forum and served as a member of the Secretary of Health and Human Services' independent advisory council on physician payment policy.

4. Dr. Ferris replaces Penny Wheeler, MD, the CEO of Minneapolis-based Allina Health, who completed her term on the company's board.
