Hashed Health adds Accenture to healthcare blockchain consortium

Julie Spitzer -

Dublin, Ireland-based Accenture will join the consortium of healthcare companies led by Nashville, Tenn.-based blockchain startup Hashed Health, the companies announced Sept. 26.

The Hashed Health Blockchain Consortium is a group of healthcare companies working to accelerate innovation with distributed ledger technologies. As a consortium member, Accenture will help develop use cases and opportunities for blockchain in healthcare organizations.

"While adoption grows, healthcare organizations must continue advancing the application of blockchain technologies to achieve and sustain meaningful progress," said Brian Kalis, managing director of digital health at Accenture. "We believe that Hashed Health's workgroup-centered model will allow companies to collaboratively tackle existing problems in healthcare while establishing best practices."
