Hackers behind OPM, Anthem attacks also responsible for United Airlines breach

Staff -

The hackers behind the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and Anthem breaches, both of which compromised information for millions of people, have now been linked to a United Airlines breach, according to a CIO report.

The breach involves compromised data from flight manifests, which contain information on passengers, including travel origins and destinations. United Airlines' parent company, United Continental Holdings, did not immediately respond to a request for comment, according to the report.

Symantec security researchers have said the group responsible for these hacks is named Black Vine, a group that has been active since 2012, according to the group. Black Vine targets organizations in multiple industries.
