Helpouts, which launched in 2013, was designed to save consumers the research time by providing a place where professionals could sign up to answer questions through video chats with users. This included many healthcare professionals. However, it did not grow quickly enough to satisfy Google, which announced Helpouts would be discontinued on April 20, 2015, according to Venture Beat.
Helpouts categorized services available, but some users found the categories too broad — for instance, mental health, nutrition, pediatric advice and dental advice were all categorized together under “Health,” which frustrated users looking for a particular service, according to the report.
Users can access their data history between April 20 and Nov. 1, 2015, according to Google’s announcement. Healthcare users, however, cannot use the Google Takeout tool to download the data because of privacy compliance, the statement said.
