1. Allscripts tapped Gaylene Ray as vice president of professional services in Australia and New Zealand, the company announced Oct. 6.

2. Athenahealth will offer HIPAA One security risk analysis software as an optional line-item on their monthly invoice to provide greater value and simple billing.

3. Avizia, which partners with providers to deploy and power systemwide telehealth solutions, acquired Carena, a virtual care provider, Oct. 10.

4. Azalea Health merged with Prognosis Innovation Healthcare Aug. 31 to establish an EHR to serve rural and community hospitals.
