From acquisitions to partnerships to mergers to new offerings, here's the latest roundup of stories about health IT companies, including Google, Epic and Apple.

  1. Google began dissolving its health division as its chief, David Feinberg, MD, departed for Cerner.

  2. Verily, Google's sister company and a subsidiary of Alphabet, acquired SignalPath, a clinical trial management system.

  3. Semafone, a data security platform for patient payment processing, joined Epic's App Orchard online marketplace.

  4. Apple pulled back work on a key app project within its health division that lets employees log their health data and connect with clinicians who are part of AC Wellness, the tech giant's physician group partner.

  5. Private equity firm Nordic Capital said it will acquire Inovalon, an analytics company used by most of the top 25 U.S. health plans and top 25 provider systems.

  6. WebMD launched an offering that allows patients to search for providers and schedule appointments in a new collaboration with symplr.

  7. Mental health and meditation app Headspace announced plans to merge with on-demand digital mental health service Ginger.

  8. Olive launched an in-house ventures studio seeking to create companies and products for the healthcare industry.

  9. Molecular information company Foundation Medicine teamed up with Epic to add genomic profiling and other testing services to Epic's EHR systems.

  10. Allscripts sold off its precision medicine platform 2bPrecise to AccessDX Holdings.

  11. Uber Health said it will provide rides for Texas Medicaid participants to and from medical appointments through a new partnership.

  12. Google shut down Streams, a mobile app developed to help clinicians track patients' conditions, just two years after finalizing its acquisition.
