Geisinger developing AI solutions to detect, prevent high-burden diseases

Geisinger has tapped Medial EarlySign, an Israeli healthcare software company, to help the Danville, Pa.-based health system develop and deploy a suite of machine learning-powered digital solutions to identify patients at risk of high-burden diseases.

EarlySign will work closely with Geisinger's Steele Institute for Health Innovation to implement the solutions. EarlySign's LGI-Flag system will serve as a jumping off point for the partnership; the program analyzes medical data to help providers determine which patients are at risk for lower GI disorders.

By pooling EarlySign's IT capabilities with Geisinger's innovation initiatives, collection of patient data and roster of providers, the two organizations will be able to build upon the LGI-Flag system, applying the technology to other acute and chronic diseases.
