GE Healthcare entered into an expanded partnership with Intel that focuses on enhancing digital imaging capabilities deployed via edge and cloud.

As per the expanded partnership, which builds on a 20-year relationship, GE Healthcare will use the new Intel Xeon Scalable platform and pair it with GE's imaging solutions. Additionally, the companies will invest in a new digital development lab in Chicago. The Joint Performance Acceleration Lab will focus on the development, testing and validation of new innovations across GE Healthcare imaging hardware and software solutions.

The companies will also use the Wind River Titanium Control software virtualization platform to fuel new solutions.

"To ensure we are delivering the best possible outcomes at the lowest cost in this digital age, GE Healthcare is partnering with Intel to co-develop on and off premise solutions through our new lab and accelerate these with the Intel Xeon Scalable platform," said David Hale, senior vice president of enterprise imaging digital solutions at GE Healthcare.
