Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare Innovation Hub has named Konica Minolta Healthcare, Novo Nordisk, Philips and Stryker as strategic partners.

The Innovation Hub, in collaboration with Sharecare, a health and wellness engagement platform, unites healthcare and technology experts. The hub's partners use a demand-driven innovation approach to develop solutions addressing healthcare cost, quality and outcomes issues. The organization's initial areas of focus include precision medicine, orthopedics, obesity and rural access to care via telehealth.

The addition of Konica Minolta Healthcare, Novo Nordisk, Philips and Stryker will help increase the hub's resources.

The hub is working with Konica Minolta Healthcare to validate the development of cancer screening tools and genetic testing modules, for example, according to Scott D. Boden, MD, Emory Healthcare's vice president of business innovation.

"Emory Healthcare is excited to see the expansion of the Emory Healthcare Innovation Hub through its newest strategic partners, which are some of the largest companies in the world committed to creating meaningful solutions and outcomes in health and health care," said Jonathan S. Lewin, MD, president, CEO and board chair of Emory Healthcare.
