Duke Health launches telehealth urgent care app

Jackie Drees -

Durham, N.C.-based Duke Health released a new mobile and desktop application that allows patients to receive 24/7 virtual urgent care, according to The Chronicle

The app, called Duke Health Anywhere, is a collaboration between the health system, telehealth provider American Well and Online Care Group. Duke Health Anywhere users can log onto the app to speak with a medical professional about common health conditions including pink eye, cold, nausea and vomiting.

Individuals that use the new app are not required to be existing Duke Health patients. Each virtual visit lasts 10 minutes and is scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. A visit costs $49 and insurance is not accepted through the app.
