Physicians are also skeptical about the efficiency and effectiveness of EHRs, saying adoption could hinder quality care by cutting into productivity. Still, nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies are working to smooth out the wrinkles by studying EHRs, its impact on patient safety and best practices for interoperability.
