Datavant, Prognos partner to apply AI analytics to patient data for disease prediction

Andrea Park -

Prognos, a New York City-based company providing artificial intelligence-powered analytics to predict and track disease, announced June 27 it has partnered with Datavant, a San Francisco-based firm that deidentifies and protects patient data for shared use in research and treatment.

The companies will combine their technologies to apply Prognos' AI analytics capabilities to Datavant's massive ecosystem of protected patient data, spanning 200 million patients and more than 50 health conditions and diseases. Healthcare organizations will be able to use the resulting real-time clinical insights to improve decision-making and care quality, cut down on risk and improve patient outcomes.

"As the amount of healthcare data exponentially increases, so does our potential for predicting disease and its trajectory, which enables us to get the right treatment and care to the right patient, at the right time," Sundeep Bhan, Prognos' CEO and co-founder, said. "Giving our customers a more comprehensive view of the patient will result in better and more forward-looking insights to improve decision-making."
