CVS Health announces 4 clinical affiliations

Staff -

CVS Health has entered into new clinical affiliations with Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health, Fort Myers, Fla.-based Millenium Physicians Group, Lincoln, Neb.-based Bryan Health Connect and Mt. Kisko, N.Y.-based Mount Kisco Medical Group.

Through these clinical affiliations, CVS Health hopes to provide prescription and visit information to the participating health care organizations by enabling communication between its EHR systems. Patients will receive continued access to clinical support, medication counseling, chronic disease monitoring and wellness programs at CVS pharmacy locations and CVS Health's retail medical clinic, MinuteClinic.

"In this era of healthcare reform, we are pleased to work with these healthcare organizations to develop collaborative programs that enhance access to patient care, improve health outcomes and lower healthcare costs in the communities they serve," Troyen A. Brennan, MD, CMO of CVS Health, said in statement. "By allowing our EHRs and information systems to communicate and share important information about the patients we collectively serve, we will have a more comprehensive view of our patients, which can aid in healthcare decision making and help ensure patients adhere to important medications for chronic diseases."

The new affiliations bring the total number of CVS Health and MinuteClinic clinical collaborations to nearly 60 nationwide.
