CHIME will provide operational, administrative and staff support to AMDIS for education programming, event management, public policy, marketing and communication and industry relations. Senior members of AMDIS will also have access to CHIME membership and professional development opportunities, according to a news release.

A second term of the contract is that William F. Bria, MD, will be promoted as CHIME’s new executive vice president of medical informatics and patient safety. He will serve as the liaison between the two organizations and assist in strategic direction to AMDIS. Dr. Bria was previously the chair of the AMDIS board of advisors and will maintain that position.

The agreement is part of a strategic alliance announced in July 2014 to enhance collaboration between the two associations. CHIME and AMDIS, both nonprofit organizations, will remain separate but work collaboratively, according to the news release.
