Change Healthcare acquires National Decision Support Co.: 4 things to know

Change Healthcare recently acquired National Decision Support Co., the company confirmed Jan. 18.

Here are four things to know about the transaction.

1. National Decision Support Co. develops cloud-based solutions that deliver medical guidelines to clinicians at the point of care through various EHR systems. Its flagship product, CareSelect Imaging, for example, delivers guidelines through a collaboration with the American College of Radiology.

2. National Decision Support Co. will fold into Change Healthcare's decision support portfolio. These employees will work closely with the Change Healthcare InterQual team, which focuses on clinical decision support solutions.

"NDSC puts clinical intelligence in the hands of physicians and other clinicians as they are delivering care," said Neil de Crescenzo, president and CEO of Change Healthcare. "With ready access to medical guidelines, clinicians can make decisions that lead to better patient outcomes, improve efficiency and optimize care paths based on world-class clinical expertise."

3. Michael Mardini, CEO of National Decision Support Co., will lead the company's team within Change Healthcare. The National Decision Support Co. team will continue to operate from its office in Madison, Wis.

4. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
