Here are 10 recent news updates on health IT companies.

1. Providers on Allscripts EHRs can now access medical information from Merck Manuals from within their clinical workflow, Merck Manuals announced Sept. 25.

2. Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai Medical Center launched an Apple Watch app Sept. 27, becoming one of only a few hospitals to offer a digital, interactive app on the device.

3. Naval Hospital Bremerton (Wash.) went live on the U.S. Department of Defense's Cerner EHR system, called MHS Genesis, Sept. 25.

4. Fond Du Lac, Wis.-based Agnesian Healthcare sued Cerner Sept. 15, claiming issues with its revenue cycle management software caused the system to lose $16 million.

5. Change Healthcare, a Nashville, Tenn.-based health IT company, pledged to support blockchain transactions on its network by the end of the year.

6. Epic CEO Judy Faulkner, dressed in a wizard robe and hat, called on attendees to "be the wizards" that advance EHRs at the company's annual Users Group Meeting Sept. 26.

7. Accenture will join a consortium of healthcare companies led by Nashville, Tenn.-based blockchain startup Hashed Health, the companies announced Sept. 26.

10. Sema4, a genomic testing startup spun out of New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System, named Jamie Coffin, PhD, its president and COO earlier this month.
