Cerner revenue increases 6% in Q2: 4 things to know

North Kansas City, Mo.-based Cerner, set to become the new systemwide EHR for the Department of Veteran Affairs, released its financial results for the second quarter of 2017, which ended July 1.

Here are four things to know.

1. Cerner reported $1.29 billion in second quarter revenue, up 6 percent from one year prior.

2. The company posted $1.64 billion for bookings for the second quarter, which it says is an "all-time high." This increase represents a 16 percent growth, up from $1.41 billion for bookings one year prior.

3. It recorded $179.7 million in net earnings, compared to $166.5 million in the second quarter of 2016.

4. Cerner's diluted earnings per share were $0.53, an increase from $0.48 one year prior.
