Here are seven recent news updates on health IT companies:

1. American Well snagged nearly $291 million in funds, backed by new investor Philips.

2. Twenty-eight new hospitals, including Cleveland Clinic and Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente, joined Apple's Health Records beta program.

3. After more than three years of litigation, Cerner agreed to pay a $4.5 million settlement to resolve a class-action lawsuit alleging the company failed to pay employees overtime wages.

4. Google recently named Karan Bhatia, the former president of government affairs and policy at General Electric, the company's head of policy.

5. Greenway Health named Richard Atkin CEO, the health IT and services provider confirmed June 26.

6. UC San Diego Health notified 619 patients their protected health information may have been compromised as part of a massive data breach at Nuance  Communications in late 2017.

7. French pharmaceutical company Sanofi, Swiss medical technology company Sensile Medical and Alphabet's life sciences arm Verily are developing a connected insulin patch pump.
