The unit is a computer monitor on a cart with a camera that is remotely controlled from Fletcher Allen and can transmit images and sound. CVMC plans to use the roving unit in the ICU and emergency department to consult with Fletcher Allen physicians on difficult cases. The telemedicine capability is part of an ICU improvement initiative that the hospital will continue to work on during the coming year.
