Cedars-Sinai taps Noteworth for patient-generated data insights

Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai entered a three-year patient engagement agreement with Noteworth, a company that connects providers with patient-generated data.

Noteworth's platform — which Cedars-Sinai will integrate into its EMR system — enables physicians to collect and analyze patients' health information between office visits. Under the agreement, a physician can place an order for biometric or behavioral data from within the EMR, which a patient can respond to via Noteworth's at-home medical devices.

Cedars-Sinai plans to use Noteworth's capabilities to support patients with chronic diseases. The technology will be deployed at the hospital's Heart Institute, Anna and Max Webb and Family Diabetes Outpatient Treatment and Education Center, and the obstetrics and gynecology department.

"These conditions require significant patient-doctor interactions for education and medication adjustments, and these interactions are greatly enhanced when data is available to review and discuss," said Ruchi Mathur, MD, director of the Diabetes Outpatient Teaching Education Center. "This insight is a great asset for empowering our patients when they leave the office and are out in the real world."
