Although seven National Health Service trusts did not allocate funds to cybersecurity in 2015, some hospitals in the U.K. claim they're secure from cyberthreats, according to the Southend Standard.
Southend-on-Sea, England-based Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust claims the hospital has remained safe from cyberattacks by making investments in its security. "The trust has invested in robust protection systems and experienced zero cybersecurity breaches to date," said Alan Tuckwood, head of IT at Southend University Hospital.
Basildon (England) and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has also kept its patients' information safe from breaches. "Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust takes all forms of security, including cybersecurity, very seriously, investing money to ensure our systems are safe," said a spokeswoman from the trust. "Over the last two years we've had no data breaches due to cyberattacks."
