Here are nine recent news updates on key health IT companies.

1. athenahealth and eClinicalWorks were ranked among the top 20 best vendors for cloud-based EHRs by solo and small practice physicians.

2. Wall Street analysts predict that Cerner will announce $0.46 earnings per share for the second quarter. The company's stock has a mean price target of $77.75.

3. Comvest Partners hcompleted its acquisition of McKesson's Care Management business, renaming the business AxisPoint Health. 

4. LaSalle, Colo.-based Carent Laboratory Solutions, an alliance of nine hospital-based laboratories in Colorado and Nebraska, announced Monday it selected McKesson for revenue cycle management services.

5. Boston-based Partners HealthCare launched Epic's EHR at a grand total of $1.2 billion, the system's biggest single investment to date.

6. athenahealth's short interest is at 11.27 million shares, up 5 percent from the same period last month.

7. Cerner shares in the short interest have increased by 954,397, up 7.4 percent.

8. Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Health System has signed a contract with Epic to implement its EHR system.
