The next generation of iPhones may not have one of its characterizing features: the home button, reports Bloomberg, citing a person familiar with the matter.
The phone maker appears to have slowly been phasing out the home button in the past few iPhone models. Once a button situated on the bottom of the screen that was actually pressed, the latest models also incorporate Touch ID, which allows a user to hold his or her finger to the button where it is read by a fingerprint sensor, according to Apple Insider.
However, it is unlikely the new phones will do away with Touch ID entirely. Instead, it might be integrated into the phone's display, according to Apple Insider.
The new models are expected to be released in early 2017.
