Here's the latest roundup of stories about health IT companies, including Cerner, Google and Microsoft.

1. Paul Wilder joined CommonWell Health Alliance as executive director of the nonprofit trade association.

2. Athenahealth, a Watertown, Mass.-based EHR vendor, announced on Dec. 10 that it developed an interactive flu dashboard that tracks the spread of the illness across the U.S.

3. Genetic testing company Celmatix filed a $100 million lawsuit against its former business partner 23andMe on Dec. 10.

4. Google Health has recruited the CMO of wearables startup AliveCor Jacqueline Shreibati, MD, to its team.

5. The U.S. Department of Justice has received clearance to review Google's $2.1 billion acquisition of Fitbit following an "arm wrestle" with the Federal Trade Commission for the investigation.

6. New Brunswick, N.J.-based Rutgers medical school and Microsoft on Dec. 10 launched a jointly developed mobile application that aims to prevent sudden infant death syndrome.

7. Alphabet announced Dec. 9 that biologist Frances Arnold, PhD, will join its board of directors.

12. A little more than two years has passed since the death of Cerner's co-founder and former CEO Neal Patterson; since then, the Kansas City, Mo.-based EHR vendor's C-level executive team has undergone various personnel changes.

13. Veritas Genetics, a startup offering consumers and healthcare organizations whole genome sequencing and interpretation for $599, ceased U.S. operations on Dec. 4, citing an "adverse financing situation."

14. Members of Google Health's artificial intelligence team developed deep learning models able to detect four types of complications in chest radiographs with the same accuracy as expert radiologists.

15. Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of DeepMind, the health-focused artificial intelligence firm initially acquired by Google in 2014, is leaving his post to join Google's AI team.

16. Allscripts announced on Dec. 5 the pricing for its $200 million convertible senior notes offering, which the Chicago-based EHR vendor unveiled earlier this week.
