AMA creates 'regulatory relief' dashboard to break down CMS' MACRA proposals

Julie Spitzer -

The American Medical Association published an online regulatory relief dashboard to track CMS' deregulation efforts.

Although AMA supports many of CMS' proposed changes to the 2018 Physician Fee Schedule, it wants to see greater flexibility in the Quality Payment Program.

The bulletin outlines "regulatory wins" for the QPP and other EHR regulations, which include a postponed upgrade to 2015 edition certified EHRs and a law that reduces EHR burdens on providers.

It also described the top "asks" CMS received from industry in comments through Sept. 11. Specifically, AMA notes CMS should simplify the MIPS scoring methodology, prevent IT vendors from blocking information and expunge the two-midnights rule.
