The Altarum Institute, a nonprofit consulting firm, joined forces with Hashed Health to further healthcare payment solutions using blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.
Hashed Health, a healthcare innovation firm, offers blockchain expertise, product development, network development and support services. The company brings together product-specific work groups to develop networks. Together, Altarum and Hashed will focus on building distributed networks for alternative payment models.
"There are operational roadblocks to implementing healthcare payment and benefits models, which can be overcome with blockchain technology," said François de Brantes, vice president and director of Altarum's Center for Payment Innovation, in a statement.
