Jackie Drees -

Verily Life Sciences, an Alphabet company, launched the Baseline Health System Consortium in collaboration with six U.S. health systems to help make clinical research more accessible for patients, clinicians and researchers.

Along with Verily, the consortium comprises Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic, Duke University Health System in Durham, N.C., Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center, University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Rapid City, S.D.-based Regional Health and the University of Pittsburgh.

Verily unveiled Project Baseline, an effort to develop a dataset and broad picture of baseline population health, in 2017. The new consortium will build off Project Baseline and use the tools and technology developed through the project to improve the pace and efficiency of conducting studies and generate more accurate data to support scientific discovery.
