The “Guide to Reducing Unintended Consequences of Electronic Health Records” includes best practices for anticipating, avoiding and addressing EHR-related unintended consequences. While the guide is based on research literature, other EHR guides and interviews with organizations that have implemented EHRs, the research is still new and the guide is a work in progress.
The guide was prepared by the non-profit research organization RAND.
