Members of the American Health Information Management Association elected Ann Chenoweth president and chair of the board of directors, according to DOTmed.com.
Ms. Chenoweth's one-year term began Jan. 1.
Ms. Chenoweth is currently senior director of industry relations at 3M Health Information Systems. An AHIMA fellow, she served on the association's board of directors from 2012 to 2014.
"In an era of change, professional associations like AHIMA play a crucial role in helping their members and organizations adapt," Ms. Chenoweth said. "I am committed to serving our members and supporting and strengthening AHIMA's strategic plan so we can continue to evolve and build on our success."
Additionally, the following individuals also became elected AHIMA officials:
- Diann Smith — elected president and chair-elect
- Chrisann Lemery — elected speaker of the house
- Jill Clark — elected to board of directors
- Susan Perkins — elected to board of directors
- Karen Scott — elected to board of directors
- Anupam Goel, MD — elected advisor of the board of directors
