89% of Healthcare Workers Use Personal Smartphones for Work

Eighty-nine percent of healthcare workers in the U.S. used their personal smartphones for work purposes within the last year, according to a study conducted by a group of Cisco partner firms.  

Researchers polled 1,000 full-time workers about mobility and their employer's 'Bring Your Own Device' policy.

Key healthcare industry-specific findings include:

•    Forty-one percent of healthcare employees' personal devices are not password protected.
•    Fifty-three percent of healthcare employees access unsecured WiFi networks with their smartphones.
•    Ninety percent don't receive any kind of monthly stipend for use of their smartphone.
