8 most interesting health IT partnerships this week

Hospitals and health systems teamed up with health IT companies and startups this week to develop new initiatives, technologies and innovative projects.

Here are eight of the most interesting health IT partnerships and collaborations reported by Becker's Hospital Review this week.

1. A team of researchers from Washington, D.C.-based George Washington University, Newark-based University of Delaware, the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics and the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory are developing a portal of information related to precision oncology. 

2. Omaha, Neb.-based Children's Hospital and Medical Center signed a 10-year agreement with Philips, a health technology company, to help drive technological innovations in pediatric care. 

3. Change Healthcare and Zebra Medical Vision announced plans to develop pragmatic solutions to help automate radiology readflow and improve insights for imaging specialists.

4. KaMMCO Health Solutions partnered with medical societies in six states to deliver a suite of interoperability and analytics products and services. The states include Georgia, South Carolina, Connecticut, New Jersey, Missouri and Louisiana.

5. GE Healthcare entered into an expanded partnership with Intel that focuses on enhancing digital imaging capabilities deployed via edge and cloud. 

6. Amsterdam-based Royal Philips acquired Baltimore-based imaging software startup Analytical Informatics.

7. Change Healthcare entered into a strategic relationship with Google Cloud to combine its clinical knowledge and healthcare imaging capabilities with Google's artificial intelligence and analytics platforms with the goal of enabling real-time collaborative care and augmented radiology workflows. 

8. General Electric Healthcare and Nvidia built upon their 10-year partnership to boost artificial intelligence in GE's medical devices to accelerate healthcare data processing.
