79% of security pros cite increasing struggle to secure mobile devices

Twenty percent of security professionals say their company has experienced a mobile device breach, according to a Dimensional Research survey.

The survey — titled The Growing Threat of Mobile Device Security Breaches and sponsored by Check Point Software Technologies — asked 410 security professionals from across the globe about mobile device security.

Here are five things to know.

1. The vast majority of respondents (94 percent) expect the frequency of mobile attacks to increase in the next year.

2. Sixty-four percent of respondents said their company succeeds in adequately securing mobile devices connected to corporate resources.

3. A total of 79 percent of respondents, however, say it will be more challenging to secure mobile devices in the future.

4. Forty-nine percent are not confident their organizations will be able to prevent an advanced cyberattack on employee mobile devices.

5. The three most popular reasons for not implementing an advanced mobile cyberattack protection solution is lack of budget (53 percent), resource shortage (41 percent) and not enough risk to warrant a dedicated solution (37 percent).
