While 75 percent of health plan executives believe EHRs have everything physicians need, only 54 percent of physicians feel the same way, according to a new survey report by Quest Diagnostics and Inovalon.

The survey includes 452 respondents, of which 302 are primary care physicians employed in a private practice but who have a hospital affiliation and 150 are health plan executives.

Seventy-one percent of physicians report they would be willing to spend more time using technology if their EHRs could give them unique patient insights.

When providers were asked what one key insight they want at the point of care was, they responded:

●    The performance measures that apply to the individual patient: 36 percent
●    A list of gaps in care that affect quality measures: 29 percent
●    More information about my patient's history: 21 percent
●    Information that helps me input diagnostic codes accurately: 12 percent
●    Something else: 2 percent
●    None of these: 1 percent
