7 recent vendor contracts, go-lives

The following health IT vendor contracts and go-lives were reported during the past week.

1. The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati launched BabyGiggles, a mobile application to guide expectant mothers through their pregnancy journey, the hospital announced Oct. 19.

2. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs told Congress it will award its multibillion dollar contract for a systemwide EHR to Cerner within the first two weeks of November.

3. Rapid City, S.D.-based Regional Health went live on a systemwide Epic EHR Oct. 22.

4. Ilwaco, Wash.-based Ocean Beach Hospital & Medical Clinics deployed a systemwide Epic EHR and MyChart patient portal Oct. 21.

5. Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Ill., will implement the first phase of Omnicell's suite of automated solutions to enhance medication security and safety in December.

6. The Lubbock-based Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and the Texas Commission on State Emergency Communications joined forces with SwyMed to improve rural healthcare, officials announced Oct. 24.

7. Vantari Genetics, a clinical diagnostics laboratory, and Translational Software, a genomics-driven clinical decision support provider, will provide services to Phoenix-based Banner Alzheimer's Institute's GeneMatch registry, the companies announced Oct. 23.
