7 recent vendor contracts, go-lives

Seven recent health IT vendor contracts and go-lives:

1. Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health and UPMC in Pittsburgh are collaborating with DNAnexus, a biomedical informatics and data management company, on a precision medicine study of multiple sclerosis treatments.

2. Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health added remote monitoring technology from Advanced ICU Care, an intensive care unit telemedicine provider, for patients at Baptist Medical Center Nassau.

3. Willmar, Minn.-based Carris Health, a nonprofit subsidiary of CentraCare Health in St. Cloud, Minn., will go live on an Epic EHR May 1.

4. NYC Health + Hospitals debuted an Epic EHR at two hospitals in New York City and 17 ambulatory care clinics in Brooklyn as part of the health system's $1 billion IT platform rollout.

5. New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System partnered with Tyto Care to offer patients access to a remote patient examination device developed for virtual appointments.

6. Health iPass, an Oak Brook, Ill.-based medical billing service, has partnered with athenahealth to streamline patient payment options.

7. The latest joint effort from the American Medical Association and Sling Health, a student-run biotechnology incubator based at Washington University in St. Louis, is an online database that will pair physicians' insights about clinical challenges with developers of cutting-edge medical technology.
