5 things to know about Apple's new iPads

Apple unveiled new versions of its iPad Air and iPad mini with features including portable keyboard support.

Five things to know:

1. For the first time, Apple introduced a smart keyboard for the latest version of its iPad Pro. The keyboard is fully-portable and connects to iPad Pro, allowing the user to type directly on it to the device.

2. Both the iPad Pro and iPad mini can use the Apple Pencil, which gives users the ability to draw and write directly onto the iPad.

3. Each iPad features an A12 Bionic chip that is designed to enhance augmented reality experiences and graphics performance within apps.

4. The iPad Air and iPad mini both have altered retina displays, with the Air measuring at 10.5 inches and the mini measuring at 7.9 inches.

5. The iPad mini starts at $399, and the iPad Air starts at $499.
