5 things to know about Alliance for Connected Care's upcoming summit

The Alliance for Connected Care will host a telehealth policy summit for hospital and health system leaders this November in Washington, D.C.

Here are five things to know about the event:

1. The all-day event, dubbed the Telehealth Policy Forum for Health Systems, is slated for Nov. 15 at 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hall of States in Washington, D.C.

2. The Alliance for Connected Care, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit group that advocates for telehealth and remote patient monitoring legislation, created the event to help educate hospital and health system leaders about the regulatory environment for remote care.

3. Speakers at the summit  — which will include representatives from the alliance, Capitol Hill and the Trump administration — will discuss recent policy advancements in Medicare coverage for telehealth and regulatory changes that are coming down the pike. Confirmed presenters include CMS Administrator Seema Verma and Neil Evans, MD, the chief officer of the office of connected care at the Veterans Health Administration.

4. Registration for the summit is free and limited to hospital personnel.

5. The event is sponsored by American Well, Intel and MDLive.
