3 Ontario hospitals to share patient records via Meditech EHR

Three hospitals in Ontario, Canada, will soon integrate their health information systems on Meditech's 6.1 Web EHR.

Newmarket-based Southlake Regional Health Centre and Alliston-based Stevenson Memorial Hospital will implement the Meditech Web EHR over the next year. The EHR platform is hosted by Markham Stouffville Hospital in Markham.
The three hospitals hope the partnership will facilitate care coordination across the healthcare continuum in Ontario by giving each patient a single, common record.

"The Meditech system creates the opportunity for a shared patient record across all three organizations, meaning regardless of where the patient receives care, the clinicians have real-time access to the patient's health information," said Jo-anne Marr, president and CEO of MSH.
