Twenty-seven professional and collegiate teams will compete at the inaugural Medical Capital Innovation Competition, titled "All Things Data in Healthcare."
The Global Center for Health Innovation, CuyahogaCounty, BioEnterprise and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society selected the 27 participants out of 180 applicants. The participating teams will develop business plans for new health IT solutions related to big data.
The Medical Capital Innovation Competition will focus on optimizing data collection, whether through clinical trials, decision support, EHRs, Internet of Things or patient engagement developments.
The competition will be held on April 25 and April 26 at the HIMSS Innovation Center at the Global Center for Health Innovation in Cleveland. The teams will compete for $100,000 in cash prizes and mentoring opportunities.
