Companies are putting themselves at risk for data breaches by failing to remove employees' system access once they leave the organization, according to a new survey.
OneLogin, a single sign-on and cloud identity and access management platform, asked 500 IT decision makers in the U.S. about their company's IT security processes.
Here are four survey insights.
1. Twenty percent of organizations said failure to deprovision employees who left the company contributed to a data breach.
2. Nearly half of respondents (48 percent) are aware of former employees who still have access to corporate applications.
3. Twenty-five percent of respondents said they take more than a week to remove ex-employees' access to corporate applications.
4. Forty-four percent of respondents do not feel confident former employees have been deprovisioned from corporate networks.
