President Donald Trump named Michael Kratsios as his administration’s first chief technology officer, Bloomberg reports.

Three things to know:

1. Mr. Kratsios, 32, currently serves as deputy U.S. CTO, a role he has filled since joining the Trump’s administration’s transition team in late 2016.

2. Prior to joining the Trump administration, Mr. Kratsios served as chief of staff at Thiel Capital, an investment management firm.

3. The U.S. CTO position leads work to shape technology policy and advises the president on tech-related issues.
