Here is your feel-good news story of the week.
A missing miniature Schnauzer was found last Saturday in an unexpected location: strolling into the lobby of Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Mercy Medical Center, where her owner was an inpatient for two weeks after undergoing surgery, according to ABC News.
The 11-year-old Schnauzer, Sissy, was temporarily reunited with her owner, Nancy Franck, who is battling uterine cancer.
Sissy disappeared at 1:30 a.m., according to Dale Franck, Nancy's husband, and was found four hours later and 20 blocks away at the hospital.
"She was on a mission that night to see her mom," Dale Franck told ABC News, "but she couldn't find the right elevator to take."
Fortunately, a security officer at the hospital identified the dog, called Mr. Franck at home and permitted Sissy to make a visit to Ms. Franck's room upstairs for a few minutes before a family member brought the dog back home.
