Waterbury Hospital in Connecticut Ends 6 Years of Losses

Greater Waterbury (Conn.) Health Network ended a six-year streak of losses with a profitable 2012 fiscal year, according to a report by the Republican-American.

The parent system of Waterbury (Conn.) Hospital took in $2.3 million in profits last fiscal year ended Sept. 30, and it finished the calendar year with an operating surplus of $1.5 million, according to the report.

The system has signed a letter of intent to form a joint venture with St. Mary’s Hospital, also in Waterbury, and Plano, Texas-based LHP Hospital Group, according to the report.
