University of Missouri students pledge $1.3M to local hospital's NICU

MizzouThon, a student-led philanthropy at Columbia-based University of Missouri, signed a $1.3 million pledge to the NICU at MU Women's and Children's Hospital, also in Columbia.

The funds will will help the hospital purchase new specialized beds and support its music therapy program. In 2017, MizzouThon paid off its $1 million pledge to the NICU a year early, and student leaders expect the organization to fulfill the new pledge within five years.

"We're so grateful for everyone in the MizzouThon family," said Brittani Langland, MizzouThon's executive director.
