UC Health had planned to construct 53 apartments for people age 55 and older, with rents ranging from $257 to $569 for 20 one-bedroom apartments and $299 to $699 for 33 two-bedroom units, according to the report.
UC Health spokeswoman, Diana Lara, told the Cincinnati Business Courier the decision to pull the proposal was not due to any backlash from the public.
“The feedback we got from the community at some of the (public input) meetings was positive,” Ms. Lara told the publication. “There seems to be a lack of affordable senior housing for the Hartwell community. We just want to take the time to decide what would be the best option.”
According to the report, UC Health could potentially move forward with the project at a later time.
