Trinity Health, Blue Cross Strike Performance-Based Deal

The 12 Michigan hospitals of Trinity Health are partnering with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan in a payment model tying reimbursements directly to performance measures.

Under the agreement, BCBSM and Novi, Mich.-based Trinity will "support the funding" of infrastructure improvements between Trinity and its physician partners to improve the integration of services. In 2015, Trinity will continue with a performance-based reimbursement model in its contract with BCBSM.

The three-and-a-half-year agreement is intended to create the quality measures that will be part of the 2015 performance-based contract, according to a Crain's Detroit Business report.
