The Association for Healthcare Philanthropy recognized 52 U.S. and Canadian nonprofit organizations as high-performing fundraisers in the North American healthcare industry for fiscal year 2015. Forty of 52 were U.S. hospital systems.

The list is included in AHP's "2016 Report on Giving." The report defines high performers as organizations that raised more net funds than 75 percent of all institutions that responded to the survey. A total of 199 U.S. and 36 Canadian healthcare organizations submitted data on their fiscal year 2015 philanthropic activities.

The report found donations to nonprofit hospitals and healthcare systems in North America overall decreased by $82 million during fiscal year 2015, totaling $11.041 billion. However, total funds raised by U.S. healthcare institutions increased 0.2 percent from the year prior, to $9.651 billion.

AHP noted several key differences between high-performing organizations and other organizations surveyed.

Out of the top 52 high-performing fundraisers, 40 were U.S. hospital systems. Below are the top 10 performers.

Here are the rest of the high-performing hospital systems in the U.S., listed in alphabetical order.
