Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital and USF Health Morsani College of Medicine struck a partnership to launch an ACO for Medicare patients.

In addition to the hospital and Tampa-based medical school, the ACO agreement includes Tampa General Medical Group, Florida Urology Partners and other private physicians for a total of 600 physicians working under the ACO. Caravan Health, a population health management company, also signed on to help launch the ACO.

"Private physicians at Tampa General welcome the opportunity to collaborate with Tampa General and USF Health to bring top-quality healthcare to our patients in a smooth and efficient way," Ravi Bukkapatnam, MD, president of Florida Urology Partners and TGH's former chief of staff, said in a press release. "We appreciate that Caravan Health is helping to strengthen our partnership and the care that we deliver."
